George Gershwin created an amazing legacy of jazz, classical, and popular tunes, and one masterpiece that crossed genres: Rhapsody In Blue. The virtuoso pianist Ted Rosenthal has interpreted the works of many American and European jazz and classical masters, and explores the Gershwin oeuvre in this one-time event. Ted’s trio (Martin Wind, bass; Tim Horner, drums) performs the first set, exploring the Gershwin catalog as only he can. The Kids 4 Harmony strings ensemble continues the Gershwin thread into the second set, concluding with Rhapsody In Blue, featuring Ted as soloist. Ted has performed this masterpiece numerous times, worldwide, in settings ranging from his trio to symphony orchestras. This will be the debut performance of the composition by the advanced strings ensemble from Kids 4 Harmony, the remarkable Berkshires ensemble inspired by the global Il Sistema movement.
