Tenrikyo Yoki Daiko is celebrating its 20th anniversary as a taiko group with a special concert at the
JACCC, Aratani Theatre. With the concert theme of Tsunagari: Connections To Our Past, Present, and Future, this musical event will be the first concert ever produced by Yoki Daiko, which is based at the Tenrikyo Church in Boyle Heights, and will feature brand new songs along with some of its old classics. Special guest artist Shamisen musician Terry Nguyen will be joining Yoki Daiko onstage, and some of the original charter members will also be donning the taiko happi once again. Yoki Daiko’s next generation of taiko players, Chibi Taiko, will be performing their own set as well.
This celebration concert is a “thank you” to all of you who have supported Yoki Daiko over the past 20 years, and we hope that you can join us for this wonderful evening of music and joy.
