Layer the Walls and Henry Street Settlement Tour Bundle
Add to your Layer the Walls ticket an exclusive before-the-show, behind-the-scenes experience at the Henry Street Settlement designed for the young history buffs in your family. Tour: Saturday, February 28 3pm-4pm The Henry Street Settlement 265 Henry Street This guided tour focuses on what it was like to be an immigrant child growing up on the Lower East Side at the turn of the last century, and how reformers, like Henry Street Settlement founder Lillian Wald, responded to their needs and transformed their lives. Participants will explore the Henry Street Settlementâs permanent exhibition, as well as the historic nineteenth-century building where Wald lived and worked, and which remains Henry Streetâs headquarters. The tour is designed for children ten and older with their adult companions. Please arrive ten minutes prior to the tour start time, as it will begin promptly. After the tourâs 4pm conclusion, participants can walk to the Abrons Arts Center for the Layer the Walls show.
