Originating in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood, Pegasus Theatre has been a part of the West Town community since 2014. We create accessible, budget-friendly theatrical productions for families and young people. We offer free playwriting workshops and residencies to schools throughout Chicago. The annual Young Playwrights Festival features student-written plays that affordably accommodate families and friends. Every season also brings fresh or re-imagined stories to the stage that uplift, entertain, and encourage interaction between people of diverse origins and viewpoints. New revenue streams are needed in light of a changing nonprofit landscape, rising costs, shifting foundation funding, and our commitment to pay equity.
