Audition Skills and Coaching

Workshop will be held in person, at Central Square Theater, 450 Mass Ave, Cambridge.

Audition season is fast approaching. Hone your skills and your monologue with CST’s Artistic Director, Lee Mikeska Gardner. Besides the traditional EPAs, Lee and her team attend BATAs and are always looking for emerging and mid-career talent.

This three-hour workshop will focus on your monologue with one-on-one coaching. We will incorporate the practicals: formatting your resume, relaxation techniques, how to enter and own the room, your wardrobe, and how to show up as your best self. We do recognize observation can be a powerful learning tool, so you'll have the opportunity to observe five additional coaching sessions.

$120 for personalized coaching and observation, maximum 6 people

$80 for observation without personalized coaching, maximum 8 people

Audition Last Looks


March 28, 2-3 pm, 3-4 pm, or 4-5 pm

Workshop will be held in person, at Central Square Theater, 450 Mass Ave, Cambridge.

Consider this a rehearsal for the real thing. In this one-hour session, we will cover relaxation techniques and warm ups, the audition protocols, how to enter the room and set yourself up to give your best performance. Everyone will gather together to warm up for a few minutes and then each person will have the opportunity to run your monologue(s) twice, which will be timed and given final tips and notes. If you are singing, we will cover how to seamlessly transition from song to text. This is your time - be confident, be prepared and enjoy your contribution to the artform. 

This is not a coaching session: you should come prepared with the material you want to use at any general audition. As an additional learning tool within the hour, you'll have the opportunity to observe two other audition sessions.

$50 for personalized session and observation, maximum 3 people per hour
