DONATION CAMPAIGNS
Bedlam
BEDLAM: GENERAL OPERATION FUND

This campaign supports Bedlam’s general operations, administrative staff, and ongoing daily functioning and upkeep of materials. Bedlam is a registered 501(c)(3) organization. All donations are tax deductible.

Committed to the immediacy of the relationship between the actor and the audience, Bedlam creates works of theatre that reinvigorate traditional forms in a flexible, raw space, collapsing aesthetic distance and bringing its viewers into direct contact with the dangers and delicacies of life. In this new, fresh, active environment storytelling becomes paramount and the result is a kinetic experience of shared empathy.

Crucible Campaign '19

DONATE TOWARD THE CRUCIBLE!

When the company started out in 2012, the intent was to revisit really challenging plays, without any “bells and whistles”, and to try and produce something meaningful and human each time. We work to carefully consider the text and the story, while also always putting audience engagement first.

Continuing this aim, Artistic Director Eric Tucker is interested in directing a stripped-down, actor driven version of The Crucible, where the text speaks for itself and audiences are allowed to encounter (or not) any similar themes between the Salem witch trials, McCarthyism and our current political state. In a society filled with fear of “the other”, where do people place blame? What is the threat? In a time of survival and hunger for self-protection, no one wants the finger pointed at them, so they point first. Who will remain? How did we get here?

The show will be Bedlam's largest production to date with 14 actors, and will play The Connelly Theater from November 8th – December 29th, 2019. Because of the size of the production our goals are large, but we tend toward those at Bedlam! We would be so grateful if you would help us realize the beginning of yet another Bedlam adventure and donate toward The Crucible below.
