Halloween Ball 2017
The Halloween Ball benefits the Conservancy’s mission to preserve the magnificent mansions and grounds of the former Guggenheim Estate and to provide outstanding cultural and educational programming for all ages. Join us for a frightfully fun evening as you explore three scary floors of the Hempstead House of Horrors followed by a tented buffet dinner and dancing. Come in costume or come as you are and beware the dangers lurking in and around the haunted mansion...
Iris Garden Fund
Give the beautiful gift of irises!
With a minimum donation of $50, the Conservancy will plant irises in our spectacular Iris Garden along the banks of the freshwater pond in honor of your family members, friends, or business associates. Donations to the Iris Garden Fund will also help to ensure that the garden is beautifully maintained throughout the year. The honoree will receive a printed card or e-card, indicating your donation and the date of the gift. Please include in the notes section below, the name(s) and contact information for the person(s) whom you are honoring. You will be notified when the acknowledgement card is sent. For information and assistance, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!
The Butterfly Ball - Benefit for Gardens & Outdoor Projects
The Butterfly Ball takes flight on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 7 pm in Hempstead House. Celebrated Long Island chefs and North Fork wineries come together for the first time to create a spectacular feast in support of proposed enhancements to the preserve’s magnificent outdoor environment. Projects in development include a demonstration organic vegetable garden and fruit orchard, a shady playground, fitness course, dog run, among others – all useful and enriching new services for families and individuals in the community. The 216-acre Sands Point Preserve on the legendary Guggenheim Estate is one of Nassau County’s most beautiful parks, with massive Gatsby-era mansions overlooking the Long Island Sound. The Conservancy welcomes Nassau County Executive Laura Curran as the event’s Guest of Honor. The Conservancy also welcomes dozens of live exotic butterflies to a special garden habitat in the mansion’s mezzanine-level Morning Room. The VIP reception “Champagne & Butterflies” runs 6 – 7 pm in this immersive environment, which is also on view for families on Sunday, April 29 at 2 – 4 pm.
