About the Film

BLEED FOR THIS is the incredible true story of one of the most inspiring and unlikely comebacks in sports history. Miles Teller (WHIPLASH) stars as Vinny "The Pazmanian Devil" Pazienza, a local Providence boxer who shot to stardom after winning two world title fights. After a near-fatal car accident leaves Vinny with devastating injuries, he is told he may never walk again. Against all odds and doctor’s orders, renowned trainer Kevin Rooney (Aaron Eckhart) agrees to help Vinny return to the ring just a year after the accident, for what could be the last fight of his life.

Penguin Project
The Penguin Project at La Crosse Community Theatre empowers young artists with developmental disabilities and special needs to take center stage—supported by peer mentors, compassionate directors, and a community that celebrates their talents.

We recently received word that our NEA grant for the Penguin Project was withdrawn due to changes in federal funding priorities. While this is a setback, we’re moving forward with determination to ensure the program continues without interruption. We’re now calling on our community to help us fill our funding gap so that we can ensure the program continues for years to come.

Your donation will provide:

- Costumes, sets, and technical support
- Accessible rehearsal tools and sensory-friendly performances
- Stipends and training for program staff and mentors
- A safe, joyful, and inclusive creative experience for every participant

Your gift today helps make dreams come true for our Penguins and their mentors—and reminds our entire community that theatre belongs to everyone.

Give now and help us raise funds to keep the Penguin Project alive and thriving!
