Players by the Sea is at a critical juncture. The Governor of Florida’s recent decision to veto all Arts & Culture Funding from the state budget has left us facing significant financial challenges. Coupled with the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, our ability to continue offering transformative theatre experiences is at risk.
As we reflect on the past 60 years, we’re reminded of the tenacity and persistence that have defined Players by the Sea through countless challenges. Arts and Culture funding was CUT in the State of Florida. We need your support more than ever!
The tickets you purchase only cover part of the cost to bring you quality community theatre. We are a volunteer-driven organization, from our Board of Directors all the way to our stage crews. Thanks to the support, generosity and passion of community members like yourself, we are able to bring live and innovative theatre to Jacksonville Beach year after year. The additional gifts we receive throughout the year cover our costs to turn on the lights and light up the show!
PBTS Building Fund
If these walls could talk... they would have quite the story to tell!
Originally built in 1945, these walls have experienced many lives: a laundry facility, a furniture warehouse, even an indoor skate park. Since 1999, this building has served as an artistic home and a place to escape the realities of the “real-world” for hundreds of thousands of people.
We’re asking the community, who takes pride in this artistic home, to support the sustainability of this building for the next hundreds of thousands of people who will enjoy the work in this building!
