Your support further honors actor, writer, director, producer, theatre administrator, and teacher Tony Abatemarco for his 12 years of service to Skylight and his other meaningful contributions to the American theatre.
Michael Kearns Enhancement Fund
“Listen to the unheard. Fight for them every day.” – Michael Kearns
The Michael Kearns Enhancement Fund is named for the artist-activist in honor of his contributions to Skylight Theatre Company and the Los Angeles theatre community at large for more than fifty years.
Established in 2022, this fund will enhance budgets to help develop and produce work at Skylight from voices that have been marginalized because of disability, ethnicity, gender, or race, as well as work from members of the LGBTQIA+ community and those experiencing homelessness.

The Gary Grossman Community Co-Op Program
The Gary Grossman Community Co-Op Program would allow the company to provide 80 weeks of rent-free space and venue staff support for individual artists, independent producers, and itinerant theater companies with limited resources. The five-year model is expected to impact at least 20 Los Angeles-based small itinerant theater companies and many more independent artists.
The program would simultaneously provide participants the opportunity to mount their productions at the historic Skylight Theatre and increase arts and culture programming available to Skylight audiences.
