Nancy Marcy Education Fund

To commemorate the legacy of Nancy Marcy, longtime teaching artist and the very first Director of Education at The Coterie, we have founded the Nancy Marcy Education Fund. These funds will support our free programming at The Coterie, including Project Pride, Project Daylight, the Young Playwrights Roundtable and Showcase, and the free tuition opportunities we offer for our theatre school classes.

Nancy dedicated her life to teaching and acting and was instrumental in the growth of The Coterie's education programs. Nancy invested her whole self in the young people in her life, from family to students. She nurtured and mentored countless students, fostering community and trust alongside a love for theatre and performing.

Nancy attended The University of Kansas, graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education in 1965 and with her Master’s Degree in Music Education in 1976. She also attended The University of Nebraska where she received her Master’s Degree in Fine Arts in 1987.
Nancy Jo Marcy died peacefully in her home on December 14, 2024 at the age of 81.
