Adult Banned Book Series: The 1619 Project: A New Origin Story
Written by Nikole Hannah-JonesHosted by Theo Langason & Penumbra Staff The titles that we have selected have been challenged by lawmakers to prevent them from being taught in schools and universities, and in some cases to be available at libraries. We believe these books are valuable, enhance our understanding of the shared human experience, and are worthy of widespread audiences. The book club will include both in-person and virtual gatherings. More information will be available upon registration. Participants will be expected to provide their own copy of the book. You will need access to a laptop or phone to log into Zoom for the virtual sessions. Zoom links for virtual sessions will be sent to you a few days before each event. This is a 5-part series, 4 virtual touchpoints and a live wrap up event in the Penumbra Theatre. The series is free, but requires registration. |
