MEMBERSHIP IN GROSSE POINTE THEATRE HAS ITS BENEFITS! At Grosse Pointe Theatre, our members take pride not only in the high-quality productions we bring to life, but also in the lasting friendships and connections we build along the way. As an all-volunteer organization made up of passionate individuals from across the region, we work together to fulfill our mission: to connect, create, and inspire communities through theatre. Whether you're interested in performing, working behind the scenes, or supporting the arts in new ways, there's a place for you here. We welcome new members of all backgrounds and experience levels—come share your talents and be part of something special! Our Member Benefits Include: • Participate in Performances – All performers and backstage crew chiefs are required to be members of Grosse Pointe Theatre • Ushering – Become part of the Schaap Center Ambassador Corps! This offers you the opportunity to see not only the Grosse Pointe Theatre performances for FREE, but also those of other Schaap program partners. • Membership Meetings – Grosse Pointe Theatre members are invited to five membership meetings each year to keep up on everything that’s happening at GPT. These meetings are also a wonderful chance to meet and chat with other members. • Voting – Members are able to vote in the annual election for officers and for Clarence Award winners once you have seen all shows each season. • Workshops/Education – Workshops offer new directors, writers and performers a voice and place to share their talents. Specific education classes are also offered throughout the year. These workshops are FREE for members. • Volunteer Roles – GPT depends on our members to help build sets, sew costumes, find props, design lights, coordinate make-up and hair, and much more! There are opportunities and jobs for all skill sets and levels from beginner to expert. • Sock & Buskin – Our bi-weekly official newsletter is an electronic publication. Check out new information and stay up to date with what’s going on! • Annual Dinner Dance – Members receive a reduced admission price to the annual dinner dance, held in the summer to celebrate the shows of the past season. Grosse Pointe Theatre subsidizes the cost of this annual event for its members! • Social Times – Beyond the spotlight of the stage, GPT is a “family” that offers a welcoming community. Special social events are available to all members and help us stay connected. The value of FREE opportunities and subsidies is over $250! If you have any questions prior to or after joining, please contact us at 313-881-4004 or at membership@gpt.org Important Purchase Information: • Membership is limited to adults 18+ and subject to a background check. • Membership purchases are non refundable, however in the event of a negative background check the applicant will be notified and membership fees, if applicable, will be refunded. • Membership provided by YOS Parent Production Class registration has no monetary value, is one per family/household for the season, and cannot be applied to a previous purchase of membership. • All Membership (paid, complimentary, or otherwise provided) terms are limited to the fiscal year that it was purchased, or processed. • Membership Benefits have no cash value. • All unclaimed Membership Benefits expire at the end of Grosse Pointe Theatre’s fiscal year ending June 30. • Membership Expires on June 30, 2026 Please review the Membership and Volunteer Policy Statement by Clicking Here. |
