The Abel López Leadership Fund
Help Honor Unsung Latinx Leaders by Supporting The Abel López Award for Excellence in Arts Leadership

This Award was established by GALA Theatre in response to the need of recognizing unsung Latinx leaders and tell their stories. The purpose of the award is to encourage leadership in the arts as distinguished by those qualities exhibited by Abel López over his career and service to the arts. The award will be presented to a Latinx individual or organization that has made or is making a significant impact in the Latinx arts community, whether they are just beginning their career or are well established. Each awardee will receive an honorarium averaging $2,000.

2025 Winter Campaign
CELEBRATE GALA’S 50TH ANNIVERSARY!

Please Help Us Secure a One-Time Matching City Grant of $50,000
by December 31

Queridos amigos,

As we approach the holidays and end of the year, we want to thank all of you for helping us launch our milestone 50th Anniversary Season, which opened with the powerful production of Kiss of the Spider Woman. This play could not have been more timely, given the new challenges we face in DC as a theater serving a large Latino immigrant population that is being unjustly attacked.

While we are operating at a deficit this fiscal year, GALA has not reduced its programming nor laid off any employees. But we cannot sustain this productivity without your help. Please Help Us Secure a One-Time Matching City Grant of $50,000 by December 31.

No contribution is too small or too large:
$250 - $1,000 supports fees for teaching artists and supplies, including instruments for our free Paso Nuevo after school program.
$1,001 - $2,500 supports professional development and incremental staff salary increases.
$2,501 - $4,999 makes you an Honorary Producer of one of our main stage or presenting programs.
$5,000 and above makes you a SEAT OWNER. You can name a seat for a loved one and YOU become a part of the permanent legacy of GALA at Tivoli for centuries to come.

Thank you again for your generous support. Muchas gracias por su apoyo y

¡Felices Fiestas!
