DONATION CAMPAIGNS
Help us reach our $20,000 goal by May 1!
We are still basking in the glow of the enchanting success of our recent production of Peter Pan, A Musical Adventure at the Spa Little Theater! It was a triumphant production, marking our first performance there since the pandemic began. The energy, the laughter, and the sheer joy from our audiences have been truly inspiring. But now, we turn to you, our cherished supporters, to help us keep the magic alive.

?
Our wings may be soaring high, but so too is the price of producing musicals. We need your support to help cover the ever rising expenses. Your contribution will ensure that we can continue to bring you spectacular productions like Peter Pan, A Musical Adventure and later this season, The Secret Garden.

Help us reach our $20,000 goal by May 1!

Here's how you can play a starring role in our journey:

Give a Large One-Time Gift: Imagine the impact of 10 generous donors giving $2,000 each! Together, we can keep the magic alive!

Give a More Modest Gift: Every contribution counts! With 80 donations of $250, we can reach our goal and continue to enchant audiences with our magical performances.

Sign Up for a Recurring Donation: Whether it's a monthly gift of $10, $25, or any amount that fits your budget, your ongoing support will help sustain us and ensure that the show goes on.

Why Donors Give:

Your support has been instrumental in creating a thriving artistic haven in Saratoga Springs and beyond. Together, we are:
Fostering family bonds on and off the stage
Showcasing local talent
Providing transformative experiences for the next generation
Ensuring the arts remain accessible to all

Your purchase of a ticket is important and we are grateful for it. However, ticket sales alone can't cover all our expenses. In fact, they only make up about a third of our budget. That's why we rely on the generosity of supporters like you to bridge the gap and fulfill our mission of fostering a lifelong passion for theater within our community.

Together, let's continue to create exceptional and entertaining experiences that uplift spirits and ignite imaginations. Your contribution will not only support the arts but also nurture a vibrant cultural landscape for generations to come.

Thank you for being a crucial part of our theatrical family. With your help, we can keep the curtain rising on unforgettable performances!!

In memory of Liam Pickett
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the sudden and unexpected passing of Liam Pickett, son of Maura and James Pickett and brother of Jacob and Abbie. Liam was a devoted volunteer, staunch supporter and steadfast friend to Home Made Theater and all who met him. He had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a warm, friendly smile for everyone. He died yesterday, Tuesday, November 28 at St. Mary’s Healthcare after a medical emergency at Amsterdam High School where he taught chemistry. He was 31.
Liam often served out of the limelight as a crew member or Stage Manager, most recently as Stage Manager for Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. He will also be remembered for his onstage appearance in "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time".

The Pickett family have been supporters and volunteers of Home Made Theater since its inception in 1985. Maura currently serves on the Board of Directors of Home Made Theater and holds the office of Treasurer.
In a recent Facebook post Liam wrote “Home Made Theater has literally been my home and my family since before I could walk. I grew up at the Spa Little Theater; my earliest memories being of going to shows were the Holiday Shows every December. Home Made Theater helped me to develop my love for theater and also has always been my escape from the rest of the world. It has always been there for me through good times and bad times.”

We at Home Made Theater will always remember Liam fondly, will miss him terribly and we hold Maura, Jim, Jacob and Abbie in our hearts at this incredibly difficult time

Help us reach our season fundraising goal
Your support is crucial for Home Made Theater's entire 2023-2024 season, which includes the following remarkable productions:

Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike by Christopher Durang (Oct. 27 - Nov. 5, 2023, at Dee Sarno Theater, Saratoga Arts):
Middle-aged siblings Vanya and Sonia share a home in Bucks County, PA, where they bicker and complain about the circumstances of their lives. Suddenly, their movie-star sister, Masha, swoops in with her new boy toy, Spike. Old resentments flare up, eventually leading to threats to sell the house. Also on the scene are sassy maid Cassandra, who can predict the future, and a lovely young aspiring actress named Nina, whose prettiness somewhat worries the imperious Masha.

Peter Pan (Feb. 23 - March 3, 2024, at The Spa Little Theater):
Peter and his mischievous fairy sidekick, Tinkerbell, visit the nursery of the Darling children late one night and, with a sprinkle of pixie dust, begin a magical journey across the stars that none of them will ever forget. In the adventure of a lifetime, the travelers come face to face with a ticking crocodile, fierce warriors, a band of bungling pirates, and, of course, the villainous Captain Hook.

The Humans by Stephen Karam (April 19 - 28, 2024, at Dee Sarno Theater, Saratoga Arts):
The Humans is a Tony Award-winning play filled with equal parts humor and hurt. It tells the story of a family reunion: a group of people who love each other but still wrestle with basic human fears, including old age, abandonment, poverty, and death.

The Secret Garden (June 7 - 16, 2024, at Pitney Meadows Community Farm):
Orphaned in India, 11-year-old Mary Lennox returns to Yorkshire to live with her embittered, reclusive Uncle Archibald and his disabled son Colin. The estate's many wonders include a magic garden that beckons the children with haunting melodies and spirits from Mary's past who guide her through her new life, dramatizing The Secret Garden's compelling tale of forgiveness and renewal.

This season offers a rich and diverse range of productions that will inspire, entertain, and captivate our community. Your generous contributions will help us bring these stories to life on stage and continue to be a beacon of culture in our community.
