Spokane Civic Theatre exists to provide a safe, inclusive and collaborative venue where theatrical art is created to entertain, enlighten and stimulate reflections and critical thinking.

Being that Civic Academy is dedicated to providing educational opportunities that are found in the intersection of training and the arts’ impact on mental health and well-being, classes are focused on character development and the exploration of performance principles:
Storytelling / Communication
Expression / Interpretation
Conflict / Relationship
Transformation / Conversion
Exploration / Improvisation

Please consider supporting young artists' studies by contributing to a scholarship pool that is available to all interested participants.

1CIVIC — Capital Campaign

Spokane Civic Theatre presents its 76th season at a time of burgeoning growth in our area — downtown Spokane’s North Bank neighborhood. With many dining, entertainment and recreation options, development, including the outdoor downtown stadium, is booming.

While Civic is excited to be a fixture in the midst of this transformation, where the potential for collaboration is ripe, and access to new patrons, performers and students is undeniable, the growth requires Civic’s 27,000 square foot facility to be soundproofed. Concurrently, this moment presents a golden opportunity to renovate Civic’s 55+ year-old building and create more space for more art, artists, educational opportunities, economic development, strategic partnerships, and community investment.

1CIVIC — a capital campaign meant to render soundproofing and renovation plans, developed with Cortner Architecture and Trane Technologies, a reality.

PROJECT PRIORITIES:
- Expertly developed exterior sound mitigating barriers, cementing operability of the facility
- Property-sprawling ADA accessibility
- Redesigned environmental and mechanical controls, paving the way for a more energy efficient and sustainable building
- A 7,300 square foot addition, to include a dedicated rehearsal space and permanent home for Civic Academy
- With the entire east side of the facility requiring soundproofing materials and technology, the Studio Theatre entrance will be moved south, to Dean Street
- Improved production and technology capabilities, advancing our economic impact

Thank you for contributing to Spokane Civic Theatre’s Mission-driven, history-grounded, living legacy.
