This Fall, The Next Stage begins a series of Sunday afternoon events called Some Assembly Required, to help audiences understand what goes into making a stage play.

The Some Assembly Required series will show you what the team that creates the play actually does.

The first installment of this series, Part 1 is “What Does the Director Do”? Actors do not just get out there and know what to do. Talented actors are raw material The director of the play, with guidance from the artistic director, decides which direction the play needs to go and then figures out how to help the actors get there. Join us to learn what really happens between the day the director of a play is assigned a script and the excitement of opening night.
