At the core of all great performances is a character with a clear story to tell and a specific point of view. In Broadway Bound: Building Characters for ages 8-11, spend five Saturdays with GMT pros focusing on making choices, tapping into physicality, and building character all through the wildly exciting craft of musical theatre performance. Because of fully-formed characters with feelings, attitudes, and intellect, the magic of theatre storytelling is brought to life in some of the biggest and boldest American musicals.

Specifically designed for teens ages 12-17, Broadway Bound: Pop Vocal Musicals unlocks the potential for tuning up vocal dynamics in pop-driven musicals. Pop sound started appearing nearly 50 years ago on Broadway. And today’s Broadway “triple threat” is able to navigate the many styles of musical theatre singing. Pop, pop-rock, rock ‘n; roll, and vintage pop styles are a major part of the Broadway landscape.

Broadway Bound: Pop Vocal Musicals is a world of vocal opportunity. Pop musicals range from Wicked, Moulin Rouge!, MJ: The Musical, & Juliet, Jersey Boys, Hell’s Kitchen, American Idiot, and include Jesus Christ Superstar, Hair, Godspell, Starlight Express, Phantom of The Opera, the genre of Jukebox Musicals and countless others.. GMT’s team includes industry pros with experience on Broadway and in pop music recording, production and performance.

EARLY ENROLLMENT: $1350 ($1400)

Our GMT production of The Wizard of Oz will be a lively and inspired adaptation of the beloved classic story, combining music, magic, and imagination for an unforgettable experience.

Step behind the curtain of Oz and discover how theater magic really happens! In this two-week Teen Tech Summer Camp, participants will explore the essential elements alongside industry professionals in technical theater while preparing for a full-scale production of The Wizard of Oz. During the first week, participants will get hands-on experience in lighting, scenery, costumes, and sound—learning how each area helps bring a story to life on stage. Through creative projects and teamwork, teens will gain practical skills in design, backstage communication, and problem-solving while helping build the world of Oz.

From drama to duels—create action that tells a story! In this high-energy week long camp, participants will explore the thrilling world of stage combat choreography used in theater.

Guided by professional stage combat instructors, campers will learn the fundamentals of unarmed combat—like punches, slaps, falls, and dramatic reactions—along with basic swordplay, partner work, and stage movement. Through fun, hands-on exercises, participants see how actors create the illusion of real fights while keeping everyone safe and in control.

This year we will be building an entirely new powerhouse Musical Theatre Revue. The 2025 musical theatre revue will feature show stopping numbers and the opportunity for solos! This 2-week camp is an acting, singing, dancing event that culminates in two performances. Special guests who are known in the American Musical Theatre arena will be making appearances.

Camp days will be concentrated on vocalization, singing in harmony, performing dialogue, choreography and on-stage performance for a culmination presentation with elements of costume, props and scenic features developed by participants in the TEEN TECH Summer Camp.

TEEN TECH: PUPPET MAKING is a 1-week, hands-on immersive experience for teens 9-11 to dive into the art of the puppet making process. Participants learn to design, sculpt, and engineer their own unique puppets to life! We will start by considering the character, choosing materials, and exploring fundamental puppet-building and operating techniques.

Then, get ready to have fun with non-traditional materials: googly eyes, foam, fabric, appliqué from pipe cleaners to faux fur, and more! By the end of the week, participants will be practicing puppet manipulation, inventing character mannerisms, and collaborating to create puppet theatre with professional puppeteers. AND...new puppets will be taken home after our final day to continue storytelling.

Who doesn’t love to laugh? Physical Comedy and Clowning gives campers ages 8-11 and 12-17 the opportunity to expand their physical vocabulary, comedic timing and storytelling ability. This camp will be led by professionals from the world of circus, clowning and non-verbal storytelling.

Slapstick humor, clown routines, and improvisation will help young artists discover the power of exaggeration and how to connect with an audience. Trips & slips, spit-takes, character walks, prop comedy, face work, comic skits, bold entrances, pie in the face and sight gags are sure to abound. What can we say… this is going to be FUN!
