Support Catalyst Collaborative@MIT
Catalyst Collaborative@MIT, a collaboration between Central Square Theater and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, is the nation’s only on-going partnership between a professional theater company and a world-class research institution. Each season, CST produces at least one play that opens the door between art and science and pushes us to expand our vision of the future, framed by real-time encounters with scientists who are changing our world.
Your contribution today supports science plays onstage and conversations with the innovative scientists of our times.
Women in Science Brunch 10/26/2025
Please join us to celebrate the Brit d’Arbeloff Women in Science Theater Initiative. The Women in Science Brunch takes place at Viale on October 26 from 11am-1pm.
Meet the experts continuing the legacy of Henrietta Leavitt, Annie Cannon, and Williamena Fleming through their own ground-breaking efforts. Prof. Anna Frebel, Head of the Astrophysics Division of the Physics Department and winner of the Annie Jump Cannon Award joins us to talk about her work discovering the oldest stars in the Milky Way and its various satellites dwarf galaxies. Artist and foremost expert on Henrietta Leavitt Anna von Mertens' labor-intensive artworks use material intelligence as a lens to see science and history. These women will lead us in thinking about the intersections of stars, dark matter, discovery, and women in STEM.
